Now that brings back memories... Thanks Ducky.

MPP was where I got my start working in the computer industry, way back when I was still in high school, about 12 years ago. Wow, I feel old now...

Wooo!

by Jowie 1. January 2007 08:32

<sarcasm>The Earth made it around the Sun another time! Wooo!</sarcasm>

I spent both Christmas and now New Years at work, I'm not complaining as it was to be expected working in customer service. Still, there is something to be said about our strange obsession with marking dates and times. All in all, its just another day. Why put off things for next years resolutions that you can do now?

I haven't updated my job situation, but I started a new roll in the same company yesterday. I will be in training the duration of this week, and once done, will be working the graveyard shift Sat - Tues nights.

Hiho, hiho its off to work no mo'

by Jowie 6. August 2005 01:32

I found out Thursday that my position was eliminated. I now have 6 weeks paid to find a new job in the company. If after that 6 weeks I don't find a new job in the company, I get 1 week paid severance for every 6 months I have been employed with the company, for me that would equate to two and a half months of pay.

I'm not in much of a panic at this point, first of all, this wasn't a surprise to me, nor most of the people in my department. Second, I already have an interview lined up next week for a position I am interested in. Actually had this interview lined up before we found out our department was getting the axe.

Wish me luck on my interview on Tuesday!

P.S. The title to this post was blatently ripped off my coworkers MSN nickname, I found it hilarious.

TGIF

by Jowie 4. February 2005 17:16

Well, today is going to be far from the normal day at work. Starting at 10AM, I will be in interviews until about 4PM, pretty much my whole work day. I always get anxious in interviews, and 4 hours of interviews, with a few breaks in there for lunch, just seems exessive doesn't it? Heh, oh well, I'm sure I will get through it fine. Wish me luck everyone! ^_^

I'm home!

by Jowie 4. September 2004 05:31

I'm home... for the next 5 days. Then we fly back till the 17th. Weeeee.... So yea, if I didn't go on this trip I wouldn't get this Monday off, but as it is and that I nearly had 160 hours on my last timecard, they have us Monday off. Will post more later, I just worked 12 days in a row and I'm tired...

Still here...

by Jowie 28. August 2004 15:24

Update: I'm still in Utah, and will be until at least the 3rd. We are also working through the weekend, so after all is said and done, I will have worked 12 days straight, several of those being 12 hour days. We also might have to come back to finish up doing skills verifications for other classes that are coming out of training after the 3rd, but that is still up in the air...

My new home for the next two weeks...

by Jowie 16. August 2004 00:01

Hrmm, I haven't been posting much recently. I hopped on a plane and left for Utah for 2 weeks today to help train a new group for work. Will be returning to Washington on the night of the 27th.

I have to thank Becky for driving me out to the airport this morning. We have been spending a bit of time catching up recently. We had not seen eachother in oh, 2 or 3 years, so have a lot of catching up to do.

Luckily this hotel has free "high speed" internet access. However their idea of "high speed" is about half the speed of 178k DSL. I could pay more to get higher speed, but eh, this will do. I did go out and buy a copy of Doom 3 and will probably be spending my free time stuck in the hotel playing it and Final Fantasy online. I have my cell phone on me as well if anyone needs to get a hold of me. Don't have too much fun without me!

P.S. Keep Amber company, she's got the whole apartment to herself all alone for two whole weeks!

Time to lay off the crack pipe everyone...

by Jowie 11. March 2004 22:11

I had what sounded like an old man call me today, which by itself is not odd. The odd part of this call was the fact that he was going like a million miles an hour, jumping from one topic to the next. He wouldn't even let me complete a sentence. This wasn't your normal senile old man type behavior either, he sounded like he was on speed. Seriously! He must have been on something, I have no clue. Then, all of a sudden, he says, "Ok thanks I know what to do now bye." Uhmm, OK. Sure, you?re welcome. Heh...
